Lone Star Elementary PTA

Description

We are a group of many people with a variety of interests. However, we all share common goals: to be part of our children's education and to help our children get the most out of their educational years. Thus, many of our efforts are aimed at continuing the events that have been established and the children look forward to participating in each year. For example, we do the Back to School Bash, Dad's Club Camp Out, 50's Sock Hop, Reflections Contest, Father Daughter Dance, Mommy Son Date Night, and End of the Year Bash. We also help fund some of the needs for Music, Art, PE, and the Counselor. We have several efforts underway at LSE to help improve the kids' "quality of life". For example, our Environmental Chair is working on having a club/committee of 4th graders to focused on improving the grounds at LSE (planting flowers & trees, creating a Native Texas garden, etc.).

In addition to helping enrich our children's academic experience, we also strive to keep parents informed about what's happening at LSE. As part of this effort, we hold monthly PTA meetings; we publish Texan Tales PTA newsletter; we continually update this website, as well as the PTA Bulletin Board in the school. Finally, we are a dedicated group of parents who welcome any and all volunteers. Parents are welcome to come to meetings with ideas of how they'd like to improve LSE. If they are educationally sound and relative to the children's experiences at school, the PTA goes out of its way to support them. We think LSE is a wonderful school and are working hand in hand with the teachers, staff and administrators to make it even better.
