EastWest Institute

Description

The EastWest Institute (EWI), founded in 1980 as a Euro-American institution, is a fiercely independent, international, not-for-profit global alliance. EWI works to bridge the most dangerous divides that threaten international peace and security. EWI is known for its programmatic work in global security, trust-building and conflict prevention as well as leadership development. The EastWest Institute's eighty-five staff from 23 nations operates from centres in Europe and the US. EWI's approach is to ,prepare, protect and transform' by bringing together those who do not normally work together to attack the most difficult issues of the times. EWI's funding comes from private and public sources in Europe, the US, Russia and Japan.
