The privately-held, Sunnyvale, CA company was founded in 1994 by individuals with vast experience in the fields of radiofrequency energy and disposable medical devices.

In 1998, RadioTherapeutics launched a family of products in the United States and began sales to Europe and Asia in early 1999. RadioTherapeutics has received FDA clearance for the ablation of nonresectable liver lesions. In addition, the company's radiofrequency ablation systems can be used to create clinically useful thermal lesions in other soft tissues, such as breast, lung, and kidney.
