Description
Protozoa has a mission. We are here to animate the Web, making it prime-time-ready for cartoons, without waiting for the fat pipes that are supposedly just around the corner.
Cartoons will rule. Protozoa's DotComix are real TV-quality cartoons that actually work when you arrive at the site. DotComix are real cartoons presented on a daily basis.
We create cartoons in real time with motion-capture software, and we distribute them compactly without video by data-broadcasting digital characters and animation.
With over ten years experience pioneering 3D motion-capture animation, we have already conquered the broadcast world using our ALIVE motion-capture technology. We build real-time digital puppets for Cartoon Network, Disney, the BBC, MTV-all the big shots who know cartoons.
Protozoa's motion-capture animation involves an actor wearing a wired harness that translates the movements of the actor to digital information. Puppeteers then manipulate that data to create cartoons. Motion capture is much quicker than traditional animation, enabling a whole lot more cartoons than would be possible any other way.
DotComix are ready for TV, Internet and film. Call it transmedia, convergence, broadband, narrowband-our cartoons are ready for transmission on any medium. Characters we build for TV commercials easily migrate to the Web.
We've got a library of over 160 episodes of Web-ready cartoons today. Using our own award-winning characters and well-known licensed characters, Protozoa's DotComix are the only daily episodes online today. Cut through the static!
