Description
The Crafts Association of British Columbia (CABC) is a registered non-profit charitable arts service organization, incorporated under the Society Act since 1973. The CABC acts as a coordinating body for all craft disciplines in the province and is a network of craft professionals dedicated to the development of excellence in crafts. The CABC is a voluntary membership-driven organization, comprising individual craftspeople, craft guilds, associations and supporters of arts throughout the province. The Association offers a number of programs and services designed to meet the needs of its membership and craftspeople throughout BC.
The CABC receives assistance for its operations and programs from the Province of BC through the British Columbia Arts Council and the BC Gaming Commission, the Vancouver Foundation Matching Grant Program, CMHC Granville Island and its membership, through annual fees. Further revenue is generated through special event fundraising activities, newsletter advertising, sales of guides and publications. The CABC also receives financial support for special projects from various granting bodies including the Federal and Provincial government, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Vancouver Foundation and other community foundations, individual and corporate sponsorship and donations. The CABC benefits from in-kind donations and hundreds of hours donated from a committed group of volunteers.
