National City Corporation (National City) is a financial holding company. National City operates through a banking network primarily in Ohio, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. National City has organized its operations into five businesses: Retail Banking, Commercial Banking-Regional, Commercial Banking-National, Mortgage Banking and Asset Management. Operations are primarily conducted through more than 1,400 branch banking offices located within National City’s nine-state footprint. In addition, National City operates over 410 retail mortgage offices throughout the United States. On September 1, 2007, the Company completed its acquisition of MAF Bancorp, Inc. On January 5, 2007, it completed the acquisition of Fidelity Bankshares, Inc. (Fidelity). In December 2008, PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. acquired National City Corporation.
