As a PBM, MemberHealth administers prescription drug benefits for commercial and government organizations as well as for one of the nation's largest Medicare Part D plans, Community CCRx,, in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

In September 2007, MemberHealth became part of the Universal American Financial Corporation family of companies. As a result, MemberHealth will operate as a subsidiary of Universal American. The acquisition is a positive step for both companies because they have joined together in support of the pharmacy-based model that was the foundation of MemberHealth's success. For 2008, MemberHealth will partner with other insurance subsidiaries from the Universal American family of companies to provide Medicare Advantage plans with integrated prescription drug coverage, called MAPD products, which feature Community CCRx prescription drug coverage.
