Medshares was founded in 1984 and originally operated four home health agencies in Tennessee. The company was established in Memphis, centralizing all the management functions of the agencies in order to free the clinical home care professionals to do what they do best: enhance quality of life by providing effective, personalized health care services in the home.

From its Memphis-based service center the company provides accounting, reimbursement, internal audit, information systems, regulatory compliance, human resources, risk management, clinical programs, operating policies and procedures and communications services to its affiliated home care agencies.

In recent years, Medshares, Inc. developed separate entities known as Medshares Home Care, Inc., Soleus Healthcare Services, Inc. and Medshares Nursing Services, Inc. to meet market need for a broader range of services.

Medshares Home Care and Soleus Healthcare Services agencies are Medicare-certified and offer skilled nursing, home health aides, therapy services, medical social services and a variety of clinical specialty services on an intermittent basis.

Medshares Nursing Services, Inc. provides comprehensive home care including skilled nursing, nursing assistants, homemakers, therapy services, oncology care, maternal/child programs, pediatric care and home medical equipment, arranged by the visit or the hour for private insurance and self pay patients.
