Description

The Texas Undergraduate Moot Court Association is an alliance of university professors who founded the organization in 1993 after several successful years of intramural moot court competitions. Today, TUMCA coordinates and sponsors a series of undergraduate moot court competitions each academic year. These competitions are based upon simulated oral arguments presented to a mock appellate court by students who act as attorneys for the litigants. Invitations to participate are sent to the pre-law advisors of universities in Texas and some surrounding states. It is the hope of all involved with TUMCA that an increasing number of schools will choose to participate in one or more of these tournaments and that these notes will encourage and assist those who might be interested.
