JDS Uniphase Corporation (JDSU) is a provider of communications test and measurement solutions and optical products for telecommunications service providers, cable operators, and network equipment manufacturers. In addition, the Company’s optical coatings are used in visual display and decorative product differentiation applications. JDSU operates in four business segments: Optical Communications, which accounted for approximately 34% of net revenue, during the fiscal year ended June 28, 2008 (fiscal 2008); Communications Test and Measurement, which accounted for approximately 46% of net revenue in fiscal 2008; Advanced Optical Technologies, which accounted for approximately 14% of net revenue in fiscal 2008, and Commercial Lasers, which accounted for approximately 6% of net revenue in fiscal 2008. In February 2008, the Company acquired American Bank Note Holographics, Inc. (ABNH). In January 2008, JDSU purchased Westover Scientific Inc.’s (Westover) Fiber Optic Division.
