First Place Financial Corp. is primarily the holding company of First Place Bank (Bank). It is a financial institution engaged primarily in gathering deposits to originate one-to-four family residential mortgage loans, commercial and consumer loans. The Company conducts its business primarily through the Bank. The Bank’s principal business consists of accepting retail and business deposits from the general public and investing these funds primarily in one-to four-family residential mortgage, home equity, multifamily, commercial real estate, commercial and construction loans. On July 11, 2008, its two federally chartered savings association subsidiaries, Ohio Central and First Place Bank merged into a single federal savings association, named, First Place Bank.
