Fortis N.V. is an international provider of banking and insurance services to personal, business and institutional customers. The Company operates in four core businesses: Retail Banking, Asset Management and Private Banking, Merchant Banking and Insurance. The Company delivers a package of financial products and services through its own channels and via intermediaries and other partners. In May 2007, Fortis N.V. finalized the acquisition of a 50.45% stake in Pacific Century Insurance Holdings Limited. As of June 15, 2007, the Company had acquired a 98.59% stake in Pacific Century Insurance Holdings Limited. In July 2008, the Company sold International Asset Management Limited (IAM). In September 2008, the Company acquired the remaining stake in Artemis Asset Management Limited.
