Coastal Heritage Society

Description

The Coastal Heritage Society is an non-profit organization devoted to preserving the history and culture of the coastal Georgia region. The organization provides a number of services for the Savannah community. The society currently manages three significant historical sites, Old Fort Jackson, the Savannah History Museum, and the Roundhouse Railroad Museum. Whether it be Blues & BBQ or the annual Scottish Games, every year begins new and exciting programs that entertain as well as educate. Membership, in the society, is open to the public. We are always looking for people who share our devotion to preserving and presenting the history of the coastal Georgia region.

What we are ...

The Coastal Heritage Society is a citizen's membership organization. We are made up of individuals with a broad spectrum of interests and ideas who have come together to form a public history organization committed to preserving, interpreting, and maintaining different aspects of history and culture for generations to come. Many of our members are from outside Savannah. The variety in our members brings knowledge and expertise to the organization and this variety has contributed to our success.
