The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) is an agency of the Government of Ontario. Canada's largest museum of natural history and human cultures, it has more than five million objects in its collections and galleries showcasing art, archeology and science. Created in 1912, the ROM's permanent galleries, changing exhibitions and public programs, as well as its fine shopping and dining facilities, were enjoyed by more than 1,050,000 visitors in the 2001/2002 season.
