Description

Scitech is an interactive science museum with exhibitions, programs and services designed for people of all ages. Our Mission is to increase interest and participation by Western Australians in science and technology.

We are a not-for-profit organisation. Funding for the centre comes mostly from generous government grants, corporate sponsorship, admission and membership fees.

Scitech features interactive ways for visitors to discover more about the world and the science of how things work. We were the first Australian Science centre to produce our own large scale exhibitions and continue to design and build most exhibits on site.

Scitech has been inducted into the Western Australian Tourism Awards Hall of Fame as a major tourist attraction. We have around 200,000 visitors a year, including more that 42,000 school children.

We also have an extensive outreach program, taking science learning to more than 100,000 children in country WA.

In 2004 we opened Horizon - the Planetarium, a major new facility showcasing astronomical full-dome screen movies.
