Description
Etgar L'Noar was founded in 1999 by a group of parents, community members, and religious leaders who wanted to provide a Jewish education for children with disabilities who were not served by existing Hebrew or day schools. Our students include children with autism spectrum disorders, hearing impairment, developmental delays, cerebral palsy, visual impairment and genetic disorders.
Our goal is for all children to have the opportunity, regardless of their abilities and disabilities, to be included in Jewish learning and Jewish life. Working with their families, synagogues, supporters and partner organizations, Etgar L'Noar is able to meet the needs of children who otherwise might not receive a Jewish education. The children learn the rituals, language and traditions of their Jewish heritage. Our team of professionals, assisted by trained volunteers, "teach each child according to his or her way" during our Sunday classes and through our new Bar/Bat Mitzvah program. Our children and families also participate in a wide range of events in the community together with schools, synagogues, and camps.
