Boral has been the leading organisation supporting JDRF's fight for a cure since 2001. In 2003 we were awarded the inaugural Freedom Award by JDRF for Australia's Highest Corporate Team Fundraising, an award we kept for three years in a row. In 2006, Boral employees participated in locations across the country from Southern California to Augusta, Georgia.

Every Boral USA business was represented, and all made significant contributions to this cause. At the Atlanta, Georgia Walk, where Boral Industries, Bricks, BMTI and US Tile employees were all present, Boral was recognized as the third largest Corporate Fundraiser - a great achievement for the first year's efforts!

All Boral employees, your friends, families and supporters should feel very proud of your efforts to date and feel pleased knowing the important role you play in finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes.

Our 2007 year has already started strongly. In January, 35 Boral Ltd. employees with their family and friends participated in the Ride to Cure Diabetes in the Barossa Valley South Australia. Showing outstanding teamwork and commitment, the Boral Ride Team raised an incredible $112,500 providing us with a great platform for our 2007 community support work.

In the United States, David Plummer, VP Business Planning and Development for Boral Industries, participated in a marathon and personally raised more than $2,500 for JDRF. Boral Bricks' Atlanta North location has already raised $6,500 through a golf tournament and other donations.
