Allegro Networks is a privately-held data communications equipment startup that manufactures and markets high-performance broadband internetworking products to carriers. Headquartered in San Jose, California, the Company was founded in January of 2000 and is credited with the innovation of the multi-router. Allegro Networks multi-router products are targeted at facilities-based carriers, such as incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs) or interexchange carriers (IXCs) enabling them to optimize the edge of their networks as well as begin selling routing as a service. To date, the Company has secured over $80 million dollars in venture capital financing from Bessemer Venture Partners, Columbia Capital, Infinity Capital, Rustic Canyon Group, Thomas Weisel Venture Partners and WK Technology Fund. Employing a staff of approximately 100 around the world, Allegro Networks is led by Dave House, president, CEO and chairman of the board of directors.
