Description

Cardica, Inc. designs and manufactures automated anastomotic systems used by surgeons to perform coronary artery bypass surgery. The Company’s two systems, the C-Port Distal Anastomosis System (C-Port system) and the PAS-Port Proximal Anastomosis System (PAS-Port system) provide cardiovascular surgeons with automated systems to perform connections, or anastomoses, of the vessels. It sells the C-Port system in the United States and Europe, and the PAS-Port system in Europe, and the PAS-Port system is sold in Japan through its distributor, Century Medical, Inc. (Century). As of June 30, 2008, the Company has sold over 6,000 C-Port systems in Europe and the United States. As of June 30, 2008, approximately 8,900 PAS-Port systems had been sold in Europe and Japan.
