Founded in 1869, SIUC maintains more than 100 finely tuned academic programs that lead to associate, baccalaureate, master's, specialist's, doctoral and professional degrees. The University has both a School of Law and School of Medicine and a branch campus in Nakajo, Japan. As of Fall 2002, 21,873 students were enrolled in programs ranging from marketing and engineering to law and medicine. SIUC is a member of the Internet 2 community and makes technology a priority in the classroom. SIUC is known for its unique Saluki mascot, its beautiful campus and for providing a supportive environment for undergraduate and graduate students.
