Each year the Niagara USA Chamber, along with their sponsor M&T Bank, provide an opportunity for the regions small business associations to present a business and a business person with an award for excellence in business and the community. On May 28th, more than 200 business leaders gathered at the Niagara Falls Country Club to honor more than 26 award recipients. In addition to the business association awards, the Niagara County Community College Small Business Development Center presented their annual Apex Award representing a mark of professional excellence to Ascension Industries, a family owned manufacturing company located in North Tonawanda. Beyondus, a marketing communications firm owned and operated by Alessandro and Karen Renzi, was the recipient of the Niagara USA Chamber's Rising Star Award. This honor is handed out each year to a company that has less than ten years in the area, but has demonstrated tremendous long-term potential. "It's easy for any business to feel like the rising star with this community behind it," Alessandro said.
