An Update Letter from ZoomInfo

By Bryan Burdick, Chief Operating Officer

It has been quite a busy 2007 for ZoomInfo! After kicking the year off with our PowerSearch 2007 launch in late-January, we went on to redesign our free www.zoominfo.com site, and recently announced that beginning this month, we’re moving to a new architecture to enable us to update our data on a daily basis.  That means fresher and more accurate data for our customers!

The ZoomInfo team has been traveling around the country, attending several tradeshows where we were able to visit with many of our newsletter readers. Most recently at Kennedy Information’s Recruiting 2007 event, I had the pleasure of hosting a panel discussion on “Recruiting as a Competitive Advantage” with panelists from Accolo, Inc., Nationwide Insurance and H3.com.

It’s been a busy several months, to say the least, but we enjoy every opportunity we have to speak with recruiters about the future of our industry and hear so many unique approaches to solving today’s top challenges. Of course, we always enjoy hearing how so many of you are using PowerSearch to source passive candidates and fill key positions in your organizations (our VP of products and marketing even managed to get some of you on videotape at the ERExpo in San Diego).

At one of the events where ZoomInfo recently exhibited, we found ourselves in a great situation – the folks in our booth could not keep up with the requests for PowerSearch demonstrations. It turned out four speakers had mentioned ZoomInfo in their presentations, unbeknownst to us before the presentations, and they opened the floodgates.  This word of mouth support is very much appreciated.

As mentioned above, after soliciting extensive feedback from our customers, ZoomInfo released PowerSearch 2007 in January, designed to help you identify qualified candidates more quickly and easily. Major enhancements made to PowerSearch this year include:

  • Fresher Data: Beginning late this month, ZoomInfo is moving to a new architecture that will provide us with the ability and capacity to crawl hundreds of millions of pages daily, and present the new information to ZoomInfo users each day.
  • More Powerful Workflow: PowerSearch features a search form that allows users to instantly refine or start a new search at any point in the process; a “Quick List” tool that allows users to quickly narrow the search before drilling down for more details on people and/or companies; the option of including a comment on any person or company that can be shared with other users in your organization; and the ability to save people, companies and searches in a “Projects Folder” to share them with colleagues.
  • More Campaign Measurement: Recruiters using ZoomInfo’s JobCast email campaign tool can now track email delivery rates to better track each campaign’s ROI.
  • More Customization: PowerSearch users can now configure how data is exported from PowerSearch, such as which pieces of information to include, and in what order. ZoomInfo also made adjustments throughout PowerSearch to help simplify navigation and account customization.
  • More Data Management: At any point in the search process, users have the ability to export their results, including complete contact information, into an Excel spreadsheet. This enables ZoomInfo customers to integrate PowerSearch into their existing customer relationship management applications.
  • More Company Information: ZoomInfo company profiles now include M&A activity information, as well as displaying if the company is listed on a company ranking list, like the Fortune 100, Russell 3000, etc.

If you weren’t able to see us at one of the latest tradeshows, please sign up for a demo of PowerSearch to see how these improvements and additions can help you identify the candidates you need. If you’re already using PowerSearch and you want to share your success story with fellow recruiters – or potentially participate in one of our panel discussions at future events – please send an email to Leanne Chase at chase@zoominfo.com. We’re always looking for feedback (and we might even end up making you famous)!
