Ah, summertime – my favorite time of the year. A little rest, a little relaxation, a little time to recharge your batteries. Of course, it seems like everyone else has the same idea, so sometimes you may find it a bit challenging to track down a hiring manager for a sign-off, or to schedule a prospective candidate in between their trips to the beach. On the other hand, what a great opportunity to catch up on your “To Do” list … perhaps test drive a new research tool, like ZoomInfo PowerSearch … to improve your productivity for the busy fall season.

Plus, the summer is a great time to catch up on your reading list, including Lou Adler’s new book Hire With Your Head. In this month’s newsletter, Lou shares an excerpt from the book about writing a great job advertisement that captures the interest of high-performing candidates and gets them to respond. He also discusses how combining a great ad with ZoomInfo’s email campaign tool, JobCast, helps you efficiently reach potential candidates and build your talent pipeline.

In his book, Lou once again provides chapter after chapter of tips and tricks to help recruiters become super sourcers. And, I’m pleased to announce that for our newsletter readers, if you sign up for a free trial of PowerSearch this month, ZoomInfo will send you a free copy of Lou’s book.

Enjoy your summer, and enjoy your reading!

ZoomInfo, JobCast and How to Write Great Ads
Lou Adler, president of The Adler Group

As many of you know I'm a great fan of ZoomInfo. In the third-edition of my book, Hire With Your Head (John Wiley & Sons, June 2007), I describe how to use ZoomInfo to find and recruit passive candidates. The following is an example from the book that shows how to use ZoomInfo's JobCast email campaign tool to reach your candidates quickly and professionally. As you'll observe, for any advertising to work you must make the titles interesting and the copy compelling. As part of this forget about posting boring job descriptions overloaded with extensive lists of skills and qualifications. This is one sure way to not see or hire a good person.

Summer’s here! If all of the people in ZoomInfo went to the beach on the same day and sat side by side, their beach towels would occupy the entire US coastline, plus the entire coastline of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Québec.

Need to expand your network in the Southwest? Use ZoomInfo to find more than 1.2 million professionals in California, Texas, Nevada and Arizona.

Need to focus on a smaller region? You’ll find 195,000 people in San Francisco, enough to fill up AT&T Park nearly 5 times! If they all took the Muni to a ball game, they would fill more than 2500 light rail cars.

When was the last time you identified 8 professionals who met your specifications and researched their contact information, work history and education – all in 18 minutes? That’s what the average PowerSearch user does, with every single visit.
