Artificial Intelligence Algorithms

ZoomInfo's Artificial Intelligence algorithms analyze a Website's pages as a group in order to make intelligent inferences, much like a human being. Information on a corporate Website is typically spread across multiple pages. Humans are able to gather the information they need by drawing several inferences about where this information is located on the Website. For example, a person looking at the home page of a Website might conclude that it's a Website for ACME Corp. When he visits the "Contact Us" page, he knows that the address he finds is the address for ACME Corp., even if the word ACME never actually appears on the page. However, when he visits the "Partners" page, he knows that the addresses there do not relate to ACME Corp. but to ACME's partners.

ZoomInfo's Artificial Intelligence algorithms first analyze the Website to define the type of site. While a corporate Website has an organization associated with the data, an informational Website on autism, for example, might not.

If the Website belongs to a particular organization, ZoomInfo tools need to identify its name. A custom-built classification engine examines the Website for clues copyright statements, commonly used words, URLs, etc. and automatically identifies the organization's name.

Next, a similar tool reads dozens or even hundreds of paragraphs on the Website and analyzes the pages for relevance. For instance, it will evaluate if a specific paragraph is talking about the company. If so, is it describing some event, such as an earnings statement, or is it describing what the company does? The tool then pulls the information on what the company does.

Lastly, ZoomInfo analyzes the addresses on the Website and determines which is the primary contact location (main office/headquarters), as well as secondary contact locations (sales offices or additional branches).

In many cases, ZoomInfo establishes linkages between company information and people information via Natural Language Extraction. This provides more powerful searching capabilities for ZoomInfo users. For example, users are able to query ZoomInfo for people who work for a California-based company with "aircraft engine" in the company's description.

ZoomInfo's Information Integration tools then analyze and organize the information in order to tie it all together and to create easy-to-read profiles.
